Miles Snowden, MD
Executive Vice President of Physician Strategy, Navvis
Dr. Miles Snowden is a senior healthcare executive with a 25-year history of driving value creation in healthcare organizations, spanning venture, growth and Fortune 20 companies. In his roles at Navvis, first as Chief Operating Officer and more recently as EVP, Physician Strategies, Miles is among a few key executives who have propelled Navvis from its early stages to an established and proven operating company now serving millions of value-based contracted lives attributed to some of the largest and most innovative health systems, physician enterprises, and health plans in the country.
Miles began his management experience as the senior physician executive for Delta Air Lines, where he managed global employee benefits for 80,000 employees and $1 billion in annual corporate expense. He also managed global services for air crew medical issues, passenger medical events, and corporate response to various global health and environmental challenges.
Miles then served in senior physician executive roles at United Health Group (UHG) for 10 years, first at UnitedHealthcare (UHC) and then as one of the earliest UHG physician executives to move to newly created Optum. Responsibilities at UHC spanned from clinical product development to client management. Miles was the national clinical product leader for the UHC national accounts segment. In his move to Optum, Miles continued his focus on clinical product development, business development, and client management but expanded his scope across the employer, payer, and provider segments.
Following his decade with UHG, Miles was Chief Medical Officer for TeamHealth, which was among the largest physician practices in the country with 19,000 clinicians. His responsibilities included value-based payment programs, medical informatics, clinical performance, clinical risk management, and medical coding/compliance.
Miles earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville and he also holds a Master of Public Health, Community Health and Preventative Medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin.
