Health Evolution is gearing up for 2024 Connect, which will take place September 23-25 in Nashville, Tennessee. As we prepare to welcome leaders from across the health care industry for our fall gathering, Health Evolution Executive Vice President Rob Lazerow, who leads content development for Health Evolution’s convenings, highlights why Health Evolution Connect is a must-attend event for CEOs and C-suite leadership teams—and what participating executives can look forward to in Nashville:

2024 Health Evolution Connect is right around the corner. We have an incredible three days planned for our fall gathering in Nashville, and I’m delighted to preview the Big Discussions on our agenda.

On Monday, we’ll give attendees an inside look at key insights the Health Evolution community has unearthed through our year-round Forum Roundtables, especially in efforts to make health care more affordable and equitable. We’ll focus both on immediate challenges—such as navigating the intersection of AI and trust—as well as efforts that continue to evolve with dedicated and detailed cross-industry collaboration. We’ll unveil insights from multi-year initiatives to embrace data-driven health equity strategies and advance risk-based contracting in the commercial market—and feature executives who have been central to leading these efforts.

On Tuesday, we’ll explore how to accelerate the pace of change in health care from three different vantage points. We’ll start the day with our Confab for Women in Leadership Big Discussion—always a highlight of our gatherings—and learn from leaders at the forefront of driving bold change by illuminating overlooked opportunities. Next, we’ll turn to employers and examine how they’re poised to advance affordability, accessibility, and equity by flexing their influence and purchasing power. And we’ll wrap the day with a special fireside chat with CMS Deputy Administrator and Director Meena Seshamani, MD, PhD digging into the transformative work underway in Medicare—with perfect timing, given CMS’ recent announcement of results from its first round of drug price negotiations.

We’ll conclude on Wednesday with two can’t-miss Big Discussions that center on confronting hard leadership challenges. First, Amedisys Chairman Paul Kusserow will sit down with Sam Hazen, CEO of HCA Healthcare, for our Capstone Conversation. We’ll learn their perspectives on the major issues facing cross-industry CEOs right now—AI, cybersecurity, care delivery innovation, impending elections, an ever-evolving competitive landscape, and more. And for our grand finale, we’ll unpack the practical realities of high-cost, high-value drugs—especially cell and gene therapies and GLP-1s—and discuss how to create the care delivery infrastructure and payment models necessary to make breakthrough therapeutics accessible, affordable, and sustainable. It’s an action-packed agenda from start to finish.

In addition to our Big Discussions, we have an outstanding lineup of interactive breakout sessions, including Deep Dive Discussions for all Connect participants and special Forum Roundtable Meetings for Health Evolution Fellows. We’ll also have plenty of networking time.

I’m excited for 2024 Connect and thrilled to dig into these critical topics with candor. I’m especially pleased that many of these conversations are inspired by our Forum Roundtables and will showcase thought leadership from Health Evolution Fellows. I can’t wait to engage with and learn from a diverse range of Discussion Leaders, spanning from startups to scaled players with national reach, who truly bring cross-industry collaboration to life. And once again this year, we’re honored to have several of Nashville’s preeminent CEOs sharing their wisdom on the main stage, including Cindy Baier from Brookdale Senor Living, Jeff Balser, MD, PhD from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Sam Hazen from HCA Healthcare, and Paul Kusserow from Amedisys.

I can’t wait to see you—and Connect—in Nashville!
