Tim Spilker

Tim Spilker is the chief executive officer of Optum Behavioral Health Solutions (OBHS), the nation’s largest managed behavioral healthcare organization offering a comprehensive portfolio of behavioral health benefit and health care solutions including clinical and network engagement, workplace programs, and direct patient care. With a network of more than 430,000 behavioral health professionals, and through its own portfolio of outpatient clinics, OBHS supports the behavioral health needs of the more than 45 million individuals it serves through both benefits and care delivery capabilities that advance evidence-based care, compassionate care delivery, and the integration of physical and behavioral health across the spectrum of health care services. Prior to joining Optum, Tim spent 15 years in UnitedHealthcare Community & State in a variety of functional, health plan and national roles, most recently serving as CEO from 2020 to 2023. UnitedHealthcare Community and State proudly serves nearly eight million Medicaid and dually eligible members in 31 states and Washington D.C. Tim has worked in a variety of industries including consumer products, community development banking and nonprofit organizations. Tim earned an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a master’s degree in Healthcare Delivery Science from Dartmouth College.
