Neil de Crescenzo

Until October 2023, Neil de Crescenzo was the CEO of Optum Insight. Optum Insight provides data, analytics, research, consulting, technology and managed services solutions to hospitals, physicians, health plans, governments and life sciences companies. For the 12 months ending September 30, 2023, Optum Insight reported $18.5B in revenues and $3.6B in earnings from operations and as of 9/30/23 had $31.5B in contract backlog.
Prior to his role at Optum Insight, he was President, CEO and a Board member of Change Healthcare, one of the largest healthcare technology companies in the world, which was purchased by Optum Insight and its parent company United Health Group in October 2022 for $13B. During his nine years as CEO, Change Healthcare nearly quadrupled in all its financial metrics and completed its IPO on the NASDAQ in 2019, having originally been a NYSE-listed company purchased by private equity firms Blackstone Group and Hellman & Friedman for $3B in 2011.
Before joining Change Healthcare, Mr. de Crescenzo had two decades of leadership roles in two of the world’s largest technology companies. Immediately prior to Change Healthcare, he was senior vice president and general manager of Oracle Corporation’s Global Health Sciences business. In that role, he led teams operating in dozens of countries worldwide. For three years, Mr. de Crescenzo also led Oracle’s industry teams in the Asia Pacific region while based in Singapore. He led all major functions of the business, including large, globally dispersed software engineering teams producing products used by life sciences and healthcare companies in virtually all regions worldwide. Prior to joining Oracle in 2006, Mr. de Crescenzo spent a decade at IBM Corporation, including his last role as a senior executive for Global Healthcare Business Consulting Services. Earlier in his career, Mr. de Crescenzo held leadership positions in a major hospital system, a large multi-specialty group practice, and at a major health insurer.
Mr. de Crescenzo earned a B.A. in political science from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University. He has served on the board of directors of the Nashville Health Care Council and the Middle Tennessee American Heart Association. He is a former Chairman and long-time member of the executive committee of the board of directors of the Healthcare Leadership Council in Washington, DC. He is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy focused on global health policy, technology innovation, value-based care and disaster preparedness.
