Mark Griffin
EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer, BJ’s Wholesale Club
Mark Griffin is the EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer at BJ’s Wholesale Club where he oversees all human resources activities for the $20B retailer and it’s more than 34,000 team members in over 240 clubs. This includes compensation and benefits, talent acquisition, talent management, workforce development and planning, HR technology, and HR business partner support.
Mark is a veteran human resources executive with more than 30 years of experience, the majority of which was spent at CVS Health. Prior to joining BJ’s, he was SVP, Human Resources at CVS where he led a team of more than 200 HR professionals serving more than 240,000 employees and was responsible for talent acquisition, executive placement, and employee and labor relations for the nation’s largest retail pharmacy.
Also during his CVS career, Mark was SVP of Human Resources for CVS Caremark, a pharmacy benefits management company and the largest business unit of CVS Health; VP of Corporate Human Resources; and Head of Retail Human Resources for CVS/Pharmacy. Prior to CVS, Mark was SVP, Human Resources at Fleet Financial Group.
Mark has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Children’s Friend, a $36M non-profit organization that promotes the well-being & healthy development of Rhode Island’s most vulnerable young children and their families.
