Mark Ganz

Mr. Ganz served from 2003 until his retirement in 2020 as President and CEO of Cambia Health Solutions, Inc., the parent corporation of several companies offering healthcare products, insurance and human-centered services. Previously, Mr. Ganz held a number of positions with Cambia, including president and CEO of Regence BlueCross of Oregon, Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary, and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer; he also had responsibility for federal public policy. During his tenure as CEO, he led Cambia through a significant strategic, structural and cultural transformation, driving a number of innovations aimed at helping individuals and families more easily navigate their health care journeys. Cambia also more than tripled its financial strength and was recognized as one of the world’s most ethical companies over several consecutive years, a distinction it has continued to earn in the years since his retirement.
Mr. Ganz is an experienced and active board member. He has served on the boards of Cambia, Portland General Electric, Inc. (nyse: POR), Trizetto, Inc., Prime Therapeutics, America’s Health Insurance Plans (Chair), the BlueCross BlueShield Association, and the Coalition to Transform Advanced Illness Care, as well as numerous economic, business-related and nonprofit boards in Oregon.
He currently serves on the boards of Digbi Health, The University of Portland, Catholic Charities of Oregon, Gonzaga Preparatory School and the Georgetown University Board of Regents. He also serves on the advisory boards of Innovaccer, Inc. and the Providence Institute of Human Caring. He also counsels and mentors several CEO and C-level executives.
Mr. Ganz is a recipient of the Oregon Governors’ Gold Award for his lifetime contributions in the areas of health care, economic development and community service leadership. He has also received the prestigious Distinguished Eagle Scout Award from Scouting America for being an exemplar of the values of Scouting and the Eagle Scout rank he earned as a youth throughout his life and career. He has served as Commencement Speaker at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and at Oregon Health and Science University. He is also has been inducted into his high school’s Hall of Fame.
He earned both his bachelor’s(history and theology) and J.D. degrees from Georgetown University.
