Eldesia Granger, MD, MPH is the Medical Officer and Acting Deputy Director for the State & Population Health Group (SPHG) at the CMS Innovation Center at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. In SPHG, her work focuses on collaborating with states, clinicians, and other interested parties on payment and care delivery models and initiatives to promote prevention, foster innovation, create more equitable outcomes, and improve population health.

Prior to joining the CMS Innovation Center, Dr. Granger was a principal consultant at the MITRE Corporation, where she partnered with federal agencies to design and execute data-driven policy, strategy, programs, and technology solutions to enhance health care delivery, quality, and health outcomes. Her prior research has centered on the ethics of consumer data use in health care and uses of synthetic health data. Dr. Granger is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Preventive Medicine and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Physicians. She is also an AAPC Certified Professional Compliance Officer. Dr. Granger earned her A.B. degree from Duke University, a M.D. from the Tufts University School of Medicine, and a M.P.H. degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She continues to enjoy providing direct patient care.
