President, Market Performance Partnerships, Optum

Chris Pass joined Optum as the President, Market Performance Partnerships in February of 2023.  In this role he leads strategy and growth consulting for health systems and payers focusing on long term viability.  Prior to joining Optum, Chris served as the Chief Financial Officer at John Muir Health, where he led the design and creation of the first Market Performance Partnership with Optum.

Chris joined John Muir Health as the Vice President of the Revenue Cycle in 2009 where he led the consolidation of multiple revenue cycles, centralization of functions, and ultimately an end-to-end Epic implementation including a single business office.  After leading the enterprise analytics strategy, Chris became the Chief Financial Officer in 2015.  In addition to your typical finance functions, Chris also led Corporate Real Estate, Facilities Development, and Payer Contracting.  He also was the executive sponsor for implementing John Muir’s first ERP, including Supply Chain, Finance, and Human Resources.

Prior to joining John Muir Health, Chris spent over 15 years in Healthcare Management Consulting, primarily focused on the revenue cycle space and served as the Chief Operating Officer of the firm.

Chris lives in Northern California with his wife and two children.
